SACAP Training Requirements

DISTANCE EDUCATION STUDY
All that is needed for distance study is an e-mail address and a postal address.

The distance education materials are divided into 12 sections corresponding to the 12 week term. Students need to devote 3-5 hous per week, plus assessment time, for each module.

ASSESSMENTS
As the approach is to experiential learning, assessments, not exams, are used. Assessments combine both theory and practice, and can take the form of interviews, videotaped role-plays, self critiques, essays, journals, projects and presentations.

FEES
R4950 per module (except Facilitation training). Fees for distance learning include textbooks and learning materials.

DEFERRAL
Deferral refers to the postponement of study in the courses in which a student has already enrolled. Fees are NOT REFUNDED but may be credited for future training. All deferral modifications must be sent IN WRITING to the College.

DEFERRAL PENALTIES
- Ten working days prior to the comencement of the module/workshop - fees already paid are credited to the next available module/workshop
- Less than ten working days prior to the commencement of the workshop - 50% of the fees paid will be credited to the next module/workshop available unless a replacement can be found. In such a case, an admission fee of 20% will be due.
- After one day of the module/workshop - no fees will be credited and students must pay the full fee to retake the module/workshop
